What our former pupils say

Hi my name is Brodie; I was previously a student at Dean Field Primary School from 2012-2020 and here are some things I think personally helped me transition from primary school to secondary school.
Firstly, through having multiple SPAG lessons I noticed how my writing skills/grammar/punctuation in Year 7 was much more developed than others in my class. Also, by reading every morning in school and at home, my reading was more advanced than other children within my class.

My experience at Robin Wood helped me gain a lot more independence and allowed me to try new things I had never experienced before. We also went to London, this helped me with communication which is a big aspect in high school. We also had a Trinity student visit and explain what we would expect moving into high school; this helped me understand the expectations they would have of me.

Furthermore, doing weekly homework got me into a strict routine which gave me an upper hand at high school because it meant I already knew what to expect when coming to homework.

Now I am 17 years old; I left high school last year passing every GCSE and I am now currently studying level 3 law criminology and psychology at college.
