Here at Dean Field we understand the importance of quality Arts provision, so we are very lucky that we have three fantastic Artists in Residence who come in to deliver professional quality sessions to the children.
Mr. A Bullock is our ‘visual arts’ specialist who comes in to teach Art and Design to each class throughout the year. We are very lucky that the children get to spend an afternoon every other week with Mr Bullock for a full half term and have produced some wonderful final pieces in his lessons.
Mr. W Plowes is our ‘poetry’ specialist who kindly comes in to deliver very exciting and engaging poetry workshops to each class throughout the year. The children and staff all agree that his lessons are a pleasure to take part in and the children have learnt lots about varying types of poetry through accessing his age and ability appropriate workshops.
Mr S. Drinkwater teaches music through Samba and rhythms from around the world. Pupils learn and develop their musical skills in a practical way through playing different percussion instruments, singing and chanting.
Last but not least, Miss A James is our ‘dance’ specialist who delivers wonderful dance sessions to children in their PE sessions and also kindly runs a dance enrichment club on a Friday afternoon.
