History Home Learning

Dean Field set a variety of home learning tasks to support all areas of the curriculum. During the lockdown we were able to continue to do this via Seesaw communication and task setting and by sending out and delivering paper work packs.

We also shared any other home learning ideas sent in from our children and parents via our weekly video or newsletter to encourage fun and engaging ways to continue learning History at home. As the 75th anniversary of VE Day in 2020 fell within the lockdown dates all year groups celebrated, learnt and remembered this time from home.

All teacher and TAs spent the week setting a variety of practical and paper-based activities through work packs and Seesaw for children to use to learn about the historical event. We ended the week by virtually coming together for a VE Day tea party. Here, along with our very own VE Day video, is a selection from Nursery – Year 6 of how we support History at home as well as in school.
